Join me at our farm in Lal Lal for a hands-on workshop where you'll learn how we dig up and divide our dahlia tubers.
We'll provide everything you need. Make sure to dress warmly and wear shoes appropriate for a paddock (rubber boots best). Also be comfortable to walk 200m down and back with a gentle rise.
You may get wet and dirty!
What’s Included
- Get hands-on and practice digging, dividing and storing dahlia tubers (they multiply like crazy)
- Take home 4 unique named tuber varieties (worth $60 in tubers alone!) that we have divided ready for storage.
- Enjoy a delicious morning or afternoon tea after the course. (Please advise at check out in the notes section any dietary restrictions).
- You will receive a Dahlia digging, dividing and planting guide for growing success.
- All equipment needed
Optional extra: Stay a little longer and enjoy a ploughman’s picnic lunch for an additional $20.
Duration: We allow 3 hours for the course and some additional time for the morning/afternoon tea.
What to bring: Make sure to wear enclosed shoes, wear old clothes or bring a change of clothes and bring along your enthusiasm! An outside toilet will be available.
At the end of the session you will know how to:
Properly dig your dahlia tubers
Y ou'll learn how to properly lift your dahlias from the ground for winter storage.
Decide whether to store your dahlia clumps whole or divide them for winter store
You will learn how to decide if you have room to store your dahlia clumps whole and whether or not it is better to divide during winter or spring.
How to multiply your tuber stock by dividing dahlia clumps
Want to increase your dahlia tuber stock? Learn how to do so by dividing your tuber clumps into individual tubers.
Successfully storge your dahlias over winter
Learn different storage mediums you can use to storage your dahlias and decide which method will work best for you.
Important Information
For the experience of all participants in the class we have a no-children policy.
This ticketed event requires prior purchase. Photos will be taken on the day. By registering for this event you consent to your photograph to be taken for use in The Paddock Lal Lal marketing and social media. If you do not wish for your photograph to be taken, please advise the staff or the photographer on the day.
During the class you are welcome to take photographs. Video recording is strictly prohibited.
Refund Policy
Before making a purchase, please read this Policy so that you can understand what to expect once purchased.
As we are a small business, all sales on our workshops are final. No refunds will be issued for cancellations by customers. Re-schedules are possible subject to availability. If you need to cancel or reschedule a booking you must do this at least seven days before your class to cancel or reschedule.
Please note that refunds will ONLY be provided when a class is cancelled by the us, due to staff unavailability, low booking numbers or where the CFA declares an extreme or catastrophic fire rating.
For Private Bookings we require a 50% deposit for large groups, this deposit will not be refunded if there is a cancellation (7 days prior) or no show to the class.
Important Note: Rescheduling requests must be sent via email only.
